Carla

White Lotus Acupuncture has been providing acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine services to the Bayonne community since 2012, and for that I feel truly blessed.  Bayonne is my home, I grew up here and have been an active part of the community all my life; I have watched Bayonne evolve over these years and am excited to be a part of its growth.  Opening White Lotus in Bayonne has allowed me to contribute to the community in my own unique way, and for that I am truly thankful.

When I opened White Lotus in 2012, at my prior location uptown, acupuncture was non-existent in Bayonne; I have since watched it become widespread and accepted as a viable form of treatment; a testament to the efficacy of the therapy.  I heartily believe that anyone can benefit from this medicine and that it can succeed where other therapies fall short.

I love Chinese medicine and therefore I dedicate a significant amount of time building upon my existing herbal knowledge; a labor of love that benefits the wellbeing of all my patients. My herbal studies strengthen my skills as a practitioner, providing a deeper understanding of diagnosis and pathogenesis. I have treated many physical and emotional issues and consider myself a dedicated practitioner with a kind, empathetic nature; all my patients are treated with dignity and respect.

Besides Chinese herbal medicine, I also enjoy practicing Japanese Acupuncture, which led me to completing 150 hours of further training in Advanced Japanese Acupuncture & Moxibustion Techniques in the Tradition of Kiiko Matsumoto and Master Nagano. In a nutshell, Japanese Acupuncture relies on body palpation as a diagnostic tool to measure the effectiveness of treatment. Read about Kiiko Matsumoto style.

I am nationally board certified in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with a master’s level degree from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  I hold active state licensure in acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the states of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania; I also maintain Diplomat of Chinese Medicine status through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
